What is a learning management system?
A learning management system is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, and delivery of educational courses, training programs, learning and development programs, or other organization/industry-specific requirements.
Why do you need a learning management system?

For example, only employees who have been lift-certified should be allowed to work with individuals who may need lift assistance.
Does your LMS let its users take training and tests directly within the system? There’s no point in having a system, especially for training requirements, if the users have to log into another system to take the test.

This is self-explanatory. Do you have training that is specific to your organization? The ability for organizations to add their own training material to the system is a must in a learning management system.
Some certifications expire. Your LMS should automatically keep track of this with customizable expiration dates, including a recurring feature. It should also be able to program automated notifications to employees and supervisors about upcoming or past due requirements.
