What is a learning management system?

A learning management system is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, and delivery of educational courses, training programs, learning and development programs, or other organization/industry-specific requirements.

Why do you need a learning management system?

Caregiving organizations have to manage hundreds of different requirements for their employees. Multiply this by the number of employees in an organization and this task is daunting and takes up precious organizational time and resources.

Time Entry Integration

Does your Learning Management System allow integration with your time entry solution? The idea here is that employees would not be able to enter time against services when they are not compliant. This is especially important if your organization employs people who are responsible for keeping their clients safe. For example, only employees who have been lift-certified should be allowed to work with individuals who may need lift assistance.

Easy Testing

Does your LMS let its users take training and tests directly within the system? There’s no point in having a system, especially for training requirements, if the users have to log into another system to take the test.

Adding Custom Material

This is self-explanatory. Do you have training that is specific to your organization? The ability for organizations to add their own training material to the system is a must in a learning management system.

Expiration Dates

Some certifications expire. Your LMS should automatically keep track of this with customizable expiration dates, including a recurring feature. It should also be able to program automated notifications to employees and supervisors about upcoming or past due requirements.

Clean Dashboards and Reporting

Does your LMS let its users see everything in one place? It should have an intuitive dashboard and reporting section so you can easily view and track compliance.
